Hi everyone! My name is Charlie Olsen and I was recently elected the 2021 NH Kid Governor. I ran on the platform of battling childhood depression. During the COVID lockdowns many kids are suffering from depression and don’t know who to turn to for help. I plan to do three things to help battle this challenge:
- Fundraisers – I plan to run several fundraisers, including golf tournaments and virtual triathlons to raise money to get kids the professional support they need.
- C.A.S.T. – The Children’s Awareness Support Team will be created to provide a mentoring system for kids that are struggling with depression. We already have 30 mentors signed up for the program and we are always looking for more volunteers.
- Positivity network – I plan to create a Website where kids can share positive messages with one another and lift each other’s spirits.
